One of my favourite painting genres is still life.  I am mesmerised by 17th century Dutch masters and many of the current contemporary representational artists.  I love how they bring a life of importance to everyday objects in a dramatic way. Having spent 11 years in Singapore and traveling around Asia, I often include objects I have collected to remind me of those times.
